Like many of you, I was appalled at the current situation concerning the hepatitis outbreak and the link to a medical facility. As a physician, I know and understand the potentially devastating consequences of these diseases, and, as your State Senator, I took immediate action to address this critical issue. I was the first in the state to call for the Governor to convene the Nevada Academy of Health to investigate the Hepatitis C outbreak. I was also the first to call for more frequent inspections of free-standing ambulatory surgical facilities. Please be assured that I will continue to closely monitor this issue and that I stand ready to assist any of you who may  be affected by this unfortunate incident.
